Caitlin’s Instagram and Facebook pages are filled with affirmative quotes and images that help to spread the message of joy and gratitude with her fans and through them reaches many more people around the world.

Caitlin was kind enough to take part in an interview with us and answered our GratiQuestions to explore what being grateful means to her and how she feels it can impact everyone’s life!

What does being grateful mean to you?

Being grateful means that you acknowledge all the blessings that surround you on a daily basis. We come into this world without anything so absolutely everything we have is a gift. Sometimes it’s as simple as being thankful for the air that we breathe and the fact that we are here on earth another day. Being alive is a gift. Sometimes we get caught up in our lives and I think that stopping for a moment and being grateful grounds you and brings you back to what’s really important.

What are three things, right now, that you are grateful for?

-I am grateful for my life and my freedom to choose my career path.  We are blessed to have so many opportunities surrounding us. Each new day is another chance to choose something better and dream bigger.

– I am so grateful for the support system I have around me. I have friends and family that believe in me so much and constantly inspire me to keep going. They are my foundation.

-I am grateful for my 1 year old niece. Her innocence, happiness and silliness just takes away any stress or worry in the world. I video chat with her and keep her photos and videos on my phone to look at whenever I need a boost.

How do you feel that gratitude has impacted your journey to get where you are today, and how does it continue to impact where you are headed?

It keeps me grounded. It also keeps me positive and that positivity attracts others with the same mindset.

Your website mentions that not only are you a musician and songwriter, but you are also active in many art forms such as fashion, illustration, photography, and jewelry. What do you feel led you to have such a diverse range of interests and what is your routine like that allows you to get so many things done?Screen Shot 2015-12-22 at 12.05.22 PM

My family led me to the diverse range of interests. I was introduced to art at a very young age. My grandparents, my aunt, parents, cousins, and sister are all artists. So we did everything together, painting, drawing, jewelry, construction, sewing, etc.. Art and being creative is so important to me. It’s like a meditation to me. My routine is lead by my music. A song leads me to sketch clothing designs, draw a video storyboard, sew the clothing, edit the video, etc. At this point, my drawings and paintings are something I do in my spare time but I do see it being incorporated into my music at some point as an album cover or in a video.

Screen Shot 2015-12-22 at 12.10.59 PMOn your Instagram, you share gratitude with over 12,000 fans through beautiful photographs and quotes from around the world. Where do you like to find these quotes and messages and what is one of your favorites which has had a powerful influence on your life?

Every post are pictures I’ve taken along my journey. The photo I pick usually dictates the theme. So I’ll either google quotes related to the theme or write something from scratch. It changes day to day. I can’t say I really have a favorite post. My Instagram account is like my diary at this point and I love every post because it’s all the different cities I’ve been to and different points in my journey.

To be able to work on your art, stay in shape, and regularly put out positive updates to your fans must be a lot of work! What is your daily routine like?12105192_157293077949699_417580121_n

My routine changes day to day. It depends on what I’m working on at the moment. I do always try to workout 5 days a week. I like to follow the rule to give at least 1 hour a day to your body. I try to post once a day and I always like to keep it uplifting because you never know who’s reading it and who needs that boost of inspiration at that moment.

In closing, what is one suggestion that you can give our readers that can help incorporate gratitude into their daily lives?

I would say to take a minute to really look at all the things you have in your life and say thank you for each one. Sometimes it’s easy to complain about the things you don’t have, when we should just be grateful for the things we do have.
