It’s such a thought provoking question. For those of us that haven’t faced something as scary as cancer, it’s hard to put ourselves in their shoes. Fortunately, thanks to LiveLifeNowProject on Instagram we can hear open and honest answers to these questions. We are honored to share LiveLifeNowProject’s work here. This is part 1 of a 4 part series.
“When asked what I’m thankful for, what came to mind was simply being able to answer this question. I’m thankful for the awareness I am able to spread on a daily basis.”
@gabigirl (fighting stage 3B ovarian cancer)
“I’m thankful for my strong mind and my positive attitude. These things kept my strength while I was in hospital and these things push me forward every day.”
@astorre_v (Croatia, fighting colon cancer)
“I’m thankful for my support team, positive attitude and my mind.”
@bodybyian (describes himself as a cancer warrior)
“A second chance to make the best of my time here on this earth.”
@enigmaticsapphire
“I am thankful for my husband. When he vowed to love me in both sickness and health he meant it. As a young man in his early 30s, I am sure he never expected to be married to a hairless, breathless, menopausal cancer survivor but here we are! A decade post diagnosis and 2016 will see out 22nd wedding anniversary.”
@amieriddle (10 year breast cancer survivor, 40)
“Health, of course…and the time I’ve been given. My son will graduate high school this year – and when I was diagnosed he was 2, I was afraid I might not be here to see it!”
@designscientist (15 year tongue cancer survivor, 45)
“My doctors, my supporters, my angels, and my fighting spirit. I was just diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36 in November 2015. This is by far the most challenging time of my life, but I will prevail.”
@ibtt15 (fighting breast cancer)
“Second wind in life! I have a new mindset and face life with positivity!”
@phenomenally_me86 (fighting Spindle Cell Rhabdomyosarcoma)
“Opening my eyes every day…seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces…the love and support I was given through this battle.”
@getrealorfail (34, in Texas, fighting stage 2 breast cancer)
“Having gone through this terrible disease twice and surviving everything this ugly disgusting thing has thrown at me, I am thankful to my oncologist, nurses, surgeons, family and friends who helped beat this beast. I am thankful it wasn’t able to break my will to LIVE!!”
@sesguerra12 (Stephanie Esguerra, 53, Oakland California, two-time cancer survivor)
“My miracle baby after being born after I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 8 weeks pregnant. He fought with me while he was in my belly, and came out perfectly healthy after 12 rounds of chemo and surgery.”
@lmhbeatles (Fighting stage 2A breast cancer, 33, Chicago)
“I am thankful that I am loved. Love got me through this and now I am strong enough to give back that love to the moon and back.”
@vigis13 (in remission from stage 2/3 Breast cancer, 64, Texas)
